Taking Care of your New Tattoo
Gently remove the bandage 2 hours after getting your tattoo.
Wash your tattoo gently with an antibacterial soap (e.g. Dial) in warm water. Use your hands, Do not use a washcloth or
a sponge. Pat your tattoo dry.
Apply a light coating of A&D ointment or Tattoo Goo (if you have some) to your tattoo for the first 5 days. Then switch
to a hand moisturizer (e.g. Lubriderm)
Your tattoo will scab and flake off tiny pieces of colored skin. This is normal. Do not pick at the scabs or scratch your
tattoo. This will remove the color and cause scarring.
Try to avoid prolonged exposure to the sun. This may dull your tattoo. When your tattoo is fully healed apply a strong
sunscreen to protect it from fading.
Tattoos normally take 30 days to fully heal.
The better you care for your tattoo the brighter the color will remain.
If you ever have any problems with your tattoo contact your artist immediately.
There are certain things that do heal your tattoo better and faster, like Tattoo Goo, which I mention above, I myself
have used Tattoo Goo and know it works, now most tattoo shops do not carry Tattoo Goo, so if you would like to order some
